Call for Entries for Artists
The Alquemie Project is dedicated to the belief in the transformative power of art to support humanity and build community. The Alquemie Project is announcing its third annual Art Exhibition and is seeking entries of artwork reflecting the truth, beauty, and wonder in the natural, imagined or created world. This juried art exhibition is sponsored by Jolie Tea Company, Salem, MA.
Artwork
Preferred mediums are of oils, acrylic, gouche, watercolor, pastel, and mixed media. Final works of art are not to exceed 36” x 36”. Accepted submissions must be framed or on wrapped canvas ready to hang. A maximum of 3 original works may be entered per artist. No entry fee.
Award
One Grand Prize Winner, $1,000 cash award.
Artwork Selection Criteria
Depiction of truth, depiction of beauty, depiction of wonder, overall aesthetic value, and quality of artistic composition and design.
Exhibition Schedule
March 31, Online entry opens for submissions
May 5, Deadline for entries
May 19, Notification to 8 finalists will be sent via email
May 28, Final 8 artworks delivered to Jolie Tea Company
June 2-4, Exhibition open to the public
June 2-3, Public voting open
June 4, Winner announced, prize awarded
Procedures for submissions, selections, and final exhibition
All submissions will be made online via the Alquemie Project event page. A panel will collectively select the top 8 artworks based on the above criteria. Notification of selection will be given to 8 finalists and arrangements will be made to deliver artwork to Jolie Tea Company at 316 Derby Street, Salem, MA for a public exhibition. On June 2nd and 3rd, public viewing and public voting will take place. On June 4th the winner will be decided based on scores from the panelists and the public voting. Award winner is announced and prize awarded on June 4th.
