Call for Entries for Artists
The Alquemie Project is dedicated to the belief in the transformative power of art to support humanity and build community. The Alquemie Project is announcing its inaugural Art Exhibition and is seeking entries of artwork reflecting the truth, beauty, and wonder in the natural, imagined or created world. This juried art exhibition is sponsored by Jolie Tea Company, Salem, MA.
Preferred mediums are of oils, acrylic, gouche, watercolor, pastel, and mixed media. Final works of art are not to exceed 36” x 36”. Accepted submissions must be framed or on wrapped canvas ready to hang. A maximum of 3 original works may be entered per artist. No entry fee.
One Grand Prize Winner, $1,000 cash award. Two Awards of Distinction, $250 each.
Artwork Selection Criteria
Depiction of truth, depiction of beauty, depiction of wonder, overall aesthetic value, and quality of artistic composition and design.
April 24: Online entry opens for submissions
May 22: Deadline for entries
May 28: Notification to 12 finalists will be sent via email
June 2: Final 12 artworks delivered to Jolie Tea Company
June 4: Exhibition open to the public
June 4-5: Public voting open
June 6: Winners announced, prizes awarded
Procedures for submissions, selections, and final exhibition
All submissions will be made online via the Alquemie Project event page. A panel of 4 individuals will collectively select the top 12 artworks based on the above criteria. Notification of selection will be given to 12 finalists and arrangements will be made to deliver artwork to Jolie Tea Company at 316 Derby Street, Salem, MA for a public exhibition. On June 4th and 5th, public viewing and public voting will take place. On June 6th the winners will be decided based on scores from the four panelists and the public voting (representing the 5th panelist). Award winners are announced and prizes awarded on June 6th.
